Acknowledgements
The 19th annual international conference focused on road safety was held under the auspices of the Minister of Transport of the Slovak Republic. The conference program reflected current challenges in the field of transport infrastructure, legislative changes, new technologies, and improving road safety, which were also discussed in the opening speech by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, Ing. Igor Choma.
The event was attended by more than 130 experts from various fields – representatives of public administration, research institutions, local government, and the private sector.
Foreign participation was enriched by experts from Mexico, Switzerland, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Among the distinguished guests were:
- Gerardo José Yánez Porcayo (Mexico) – with a case study of a road in the state of Puebla
- Peter Wijnands (Germany) – with a contribution on safe mobility for pedestrians and the visually impaired
- Ingvar Krieger (Switzerland) – with a contribution on a new approach – Barriers against falling poles without drilled anchors
- and other experts in the field of transport engineering and research, whose lectures were very interesting.
The conference included expert lectures, themed blocks, and interactive discussions with participants. New technologies, safety features, and research project outputs were also presented.
Conference Objective
The conference will focus on current topics related to transport infrastructure, legislative updates, road safety strategies, future technologies, and education in the field of BECEP(Road Transport Safety), in connection with the current goals of the National Road Safety Strategy of the Slovak Republic for the years 2021–2030.
The program will feature lectures by renowned experts from Slovakia and abroad, offering space for both professional exchange of experience, as well as the presentation of new insights and initiatives in road management aimed at improving safety on public roads.

The participation fee includes the costs of organizing the conference, the electronic proceedings, the participant package with the program and advertising materials, refreshments during breaks, 1 x lunch and discussion-social evening. Scientific Paper
Conference participants have the opportunity to actively contribute to the program by submitting a scientific paper and presentation, thus expressing their opinion or stance on the relevant topic. The submission of a scientific paper must be accompanied by a brief abstract of approximately 10 sentences.
All submissions will be evaluated by the scientific committee. After evaluation, authors will receive information regarding the acceptance of their paper, along with instructions for preparing it for the proceedings. Selected papers will be included in the conference program for presentation.

We offer companies the opportunity to present themselves both on-site and in promotional materials (program, website). The specific options are as follows:

Competition for "Best Road Sign"
Any conference participant who wishes to enter the competition can submit a photo of a road sign they consider unusual or exceptional. Please send only your own (original) photographs, not images downloaded from the internet.
Photos should be sent to the conference organizing coordinator’s email: lucia@smileagency.sk, with the subject line BECEP 2025 – COMPETITION. The deadline for submission is the same as the deadline for registration — September 4, 2025.
By sending a photo, the participant consent to the publication and further use of the sent material for promotional and marketing purposes related to the BECEP 2025 conference, or its other years.
